Let’s hope next weeks episode doesn’t sink to the level of that terrible second episode in the first series, where they attempt to become special force soldiers.
In the upcoming episode, viewers will see the trio exploring French. Sensitive, but I certainly did not expect that blank reaction.Īll in all, apart from the bewildering non-reaction to Hammond’s crash and the casual sexism from Clarkson, I very much enjoyed this weeks episode. James May, 58, Jeremy Clarkson, 61, and Richard Hammond, 51, will return for a new special of The Grand Tour later this month. This is my biggest bugbear Hammond nearly died in that car crash, and yet it was presented as a bit of a joke when they revealed their times during the hill climb race. And let’s not forget his hilarious comment about women eating salad leaves (!) I’m sure he was very pleased with his ‘joke’ though. Clarkson has always been sexist, but he mentions ‘lady shaver’ about half a dozen times too many. Here’s hoping the next set of celebrities are comparable to those who appear on Top Gear several years ago. Whilst the Celebrity Brain Crash is thankfully gone, the Celebrity Face Off lingers on for a few minutes too long.Just a decent all-round episode with very little filler or fluff in-between.More time spent driving their cars along with the grumpy old men banter this feels closer to how the trio were during their time on Top Gear, and long may it continue. It is one of the very best demonstrations of both 4K and HDR. The scenery, especially in HDR, is genuinely breathtaking.Celebrity Brain Crash is not only gone, but they openly admitted that it was rubbish.‘Eboladrome’ and its contrived naming schemes are gone, as is The American.
We don’t know whether that means they’ve been scraped, but we can hope. Some of the most criticized elements of the debut season were not featured in the trailer, including Mike “The American” Skinner and “Celebrity Brain Crash,” the would-be celebrity segment that always ended with the guests dying before they could even step inside the tent. Among the action and comedy shots-one of them featuring the trio driving down a ski slope in old cars and another featuring a firefighting tanker plane dropping water on James May-we also spotted the Bugatti Chiron and Rimac Concept One hypercars as well as the Acura NSX supercar and what looked like a Lamborghini Aventador S. Some of the cars shown in the trailer are, unsurprisingly, even more exotic than the places they visit. Even though the massive traveling tent itself is gone-which does raise questions about the significance of the show’s name-Amazon says that Dubai, Spain, Colorado, New York, Switzerland, Croatia, and Mozambique will all be represented in season two. It will see the return of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, the former Top Gear hosts, whose new foray into a BBC-less world of automotive entertainment had been very well received by fans, though not without criticism.Īs per usual, the trio traveled around the world while shooting for The Grand Tour. The Grand Tour's Executive Producer Andy Wilman added: 'It's clear that the most popular 'Grand Tour' element of the show is when the chaps are roaming the globe on their big adventures and road trips, so that's what we're doing a lot more of for this series. The second season of The Grand Tour will return to Amazon Prime on December 8, 2017, according to a trailer that was just launched on TGT’s official YouTube channel.
